I believe he is, I believe his success in Montreal's top-6 is sustainable. He fits right into this team's style of play.

It depends on two things: What could he be traded for and what is the direction of the team.

IMO - Trade him. Habs have Drouin, Domi, Gallagher already as top 6 wingers then they have a plethora of centerman who could due to lack of openings have to play wing: KK, Danault, Poehling, Suzuki, etc

The whole point of the Pacioretty trade was to get as much value back as possible. We landed Suzuki and a 2nd already. Whatever we get for Tatar is bonus. He was traded to us as a cap dump and we've managed to show that he isn't but he is not the type of player we were actively looking for to begin with. He just fell into our laps.

Habs have a lot of depth on the wings already. its one of their strengths. If they don't want to trade him for non roster pieces, than at least trade him for help in areas of need. Left handed dmen.

If we don't trade him, that's fine too but if he has a stinker in his final year of his contract and is worth much less than he was previously, MB made the wrong decision to not move him. We'll never know otherwise but that is what GM's have to do sometimes. Forecast and hope it turns out.

I think if you trade Tatar for a young RFA with potential like puljujarvi it might be worth the shot of making that trade. I would most definitely make that trade.
Something like
Tatar for puljujarvi +2nd in 2020

Interesting. Thanks! I was trying to think a little more outside the box in terms of who needs another top-6 player to put them in a position to win and I think he fits well with the Wild. Oilers definitely need a winger though lol
