Description

Big but realistic deals to shore up the roster for this year and beyond. Leafs take on bad contract in Smith to get rid of Zaitsev (Smith's deal can be bought out in the summer for a cap hit of only 1 million) and sens get younger with Bracco, and Leafs get a cheap but limited RHD in Demelo. In the Carolina Trade the Leafs get Pesce to play along side Reilly on the top pair but pay a price in their best Left winger. Canes get Gardiner back to play along side Faulk keeping their defense amongst the top of the league for the season. Leafs also get a cheap winger back to Foegele who is a hometown kid signed til the end of 2020 at a cheap rate. Canes get a 3rd rounder to sweeten the deal.

I like the idea of using Johnsson to get Pesce instead of Kapanen...I don't think Carolina does tho
