Pair of trades with STLPHI
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>That St. Louis trade is no where close. I do like the philly trade though. Well sort of... not a big fan of Simmonds. If we did Kappy and gardiner for sanheim I would be okay. I think that is closer to something they would except anyway.</div></div>
Okay so what changes do you make? Let them keep the third and add a conditional pick if he resigns like a first or second in 2021 is really the only changes I would do. Could add Liljegren but would prefer not to and the picks would have to be adjusted I would think.

Leafs Survive Cap Hell 2019
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NucksFanForLife</b></div><div>If Tanev goes, we get a B RHD prospect in the deal or package him with a C prospect/roster player and retain salary for an A RHD prospect. But we’d take Brown and Lindgren for 2 million retained Tanev, Gadjovich, and a cheap roster player.</div></div>
Leafs won't eat cap. And Ozhiganov is a top 6 RHD right now . You guys will need someone to replace on the right side. Only change I may see is an upgrade in pick.

Leafs Survive Cap Hell 2019
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>draft_em_sign_em_trade_em</b></div><div>Why do fans continue to keep Borgman and Rosen on the team, I believe they both know their NHL dream is over and they both head back home to play for their Sweden teams once this season is over. I'd say Johnsson goes back home too with them, if he puts up a big fight in contract demands. If Johnsson or Kapanen cause headaches in their demands, Brown will stick around.</div></div>
Borgman maybe but Rosen will be the third pairing LHD next year. If he was a RHD he'd be there this year. Once Gardiner leaves he falls behind Dermott. He's destroying the AHL right now, and Dubas' like his Marlies. We are weak on the left side so don't think Johansson is going anywhere. If any of them get traded or become unaffordable it's Kapenen. Which I hope isn't the case.

Leafs pay him 3 million to stay home with his family and waive his deal, and not be a burden due to cap constraints. Works for all parties. Can be done without his deal but looks better with it.

Toronto Maple Leafs 2019-2020
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>alpine4life</b></div><div>as per McKenzie & Lebrun "dont expect anything less than Draisaitl's money for Mitchell Marner and I wouldn't be surprise to see the contract value closer to the 10M AAV figure once everything is done"
with that being said, Marner has Allan Walsh for an agent, he's known to be the worse agent when comes time to negotiations, so I dont necessarily have a hard time to believe what LeBrun and McKenzie were discussing last week</div></div>
If you really looks at contracts comparisons however, he wont get anywhere close to that. Pasternak should be the comparison and he had a much better year then Marner, his contract year, putting up 80 points. Marner had only 69.. So, if you factor in the signing of other big contracts the team needs to do, the slight hometown discount, a longer 8 year term, and hes a winger. He wont get anywhere close to Matthews/Tavares who will likely have similar contracts.
