i think Ves and niku is a huge overpayment, for duchene or stone. Maybe switch out petan with niku, but definitely not both

Vesalainen is expendable, Niku should be almost untouchable, especially for a damn rental.

Perfect. Ottawa prefers Vesalainen. He's the true A level prospect in your system. Niku is Chris Wideman 2.0...

It's not though. Your 1st Rd pick is pretty much a second rd pick so Winnipeg is going to have to up the ante with prospects.

Personally, I'd rather Ottawa trade with another team with more enticing prospects. Nashville willing to part with Tolvanen. Will have a better 1st round pick.

I hate takes like this, Niku is going to be a top 4 defender in the NHL. But I think one of Vesalainen/Niku is coming to Ottawa here, no matter what. Duchene would be the 3rd best, if not 2nd best forward on your team right now. Gotta give to get.

Vesalainen+Stanley seems like a pretty good package, with some conditional picks.

Good price for a rental. 4 stars. Not 5 because I'd rather not get a rental this TDL, but that's just me.

How do you figure? Because he's won the AHL D of the year? Like I said, so did Wideman. And by a more convincing manner. He'll be serviceable, maybe a 3-4, but not guaranteed.

Wideman won it at 25 years old, not 21. There's a really, really big difference.

Wideman went the NCAA route. Was averaging 40 games/year. Niku played 3 years in the Finnish elite with men. Both arrived in the AHL ready for that league in one way or another.

Personally I'd rather Ottawa trade with someone other than the Jets too, praying the Sens sign Stone, Duchene and Dzingel ASAP!
