Yikes the package you have here for Duchene from Nashville gets them Panarin may have to lower that return.

Duchene extended?? Also, Panarin and Duchene as rentals are valued the same . Or at least should be.

No they shouldn't be, Panarin is a top 10 NHL forward (and in some people's opinion top 5). Duchene is not in the top 32. Stone is far more comparable in value to Panarin (though still a bit behind but still easily in the top 20).

As of right now neither Ottawa or Columbus are letting other teams talk with Panarin or Duchene and their reps so you can include a conditional pick incase of an extension but to say he's being traded with an extension in place is untrue.

Nashville needs a centre desperately. More than a winger. That Turris signing totally backfired.

Doesn't mean they should overpay for a C when a superstar winger who plays very much like C (sort of like Kucherov) could be had for the same price.

Your superstar winger is going to be less than effective on a line with Turris. And with Panarin, you are garanteed he's gone. Maybe you can convince Duchene to stay. Guy likes country music and ****.

He's an elite player he'll be effective regardless of who he plays with. All that being said doesn't change the fact that you're giving up too much for Duchene.

Well this is not my trade scenario, and I couldn't care less about Kevin Fiala. But a trade for Duchene starts with Tolvanen + 1st (2019) + another B prospect or young roster player.

That's craziness man. Yeah okay Panarin has 11 more points in 6 more games. But don't underestimate the value of a centre. The fact that Duchene can play both wing and centre absolutely balances out the difference between 1.21 p/g and 1.15 p/g.

That, and the chances of Duchene staying in Nashville are astronomically higher than Panarin staying.

Tolvanen and a 1st is fair on it's own might be about right.

If you truly believe they are near identical in value then there's no point in continuing this.
