just seeing hayes on a bruins jersey will freak half the fans out. hes is way better than jimmy though.

Hayes prior to this season - 0.56 P/GP
Hayes this season - 0.84 P/GP

Guys playing nearly 20 minutes a night for the Rangers and he'll be lucky to get 15 a night in Boston. Top that with him being a UFA this off-season and with the history between Boston and the Hayes family, he'll walk for a team dumb enough to give him a big payday based on 1 breakout season. Lets not forget Hayes was an RFA just last year and even the Rangers didn't see him as part of the future, thus they gave him a 1 year deal to bring him to UFA.

Ya I rather not cough up the Rangers asking price, just to see a guy like Hayes walk...maybe not even live up to his play with the Rangers this season. Personally I think you get guys with term or you just roll the kids and let them develop via NHL experience. I also don't think we should be going after a #3C until we acquire a legit Top 6 winger. If we can't do that then it doesn't matter. We wont get far with our current top 6 IMO.

As a Rangres fan id love to get studnicka or Vaakaneinan but I understand that's not happening. Id sell for any combo of your first rounder with one of donato JFK or Bjork.
