Description

What I think would work well for the oilers. These are all pretty realistic. I am not super educated on NHL management but have just started following the off ice action. Let me know what you think.

Additional Details:

Edmonton is shedding some cap hit. Russell is a good dman but not the answer to Edmonton's problems. Dallas is picking up some good help on the back end for a cheap price. Russell could rally fit well in Dallas and it's a low risk trade.

Hamilton, Dougie

Sekera, Andrej
2019 2nd round pick (DAL)

Additional Details:

Carolina has reportedly shopped around on Hamilton. This is a good trade for both teams because if nothing else, Carolina takes a free 2nd rounder and still has a dman that's pretty close to the same value as Hamilton. I feel this trade is beneficial for both players as Hamilton has had a career low and could be revived, and same goes for sekera.

2019 6th round pick (EDM)

Additional Details:

This will help in the rebuild for LA. Shedding some cap, getting a prospect with a ton of potential, and for good measure a 6th for insurance. Oilers get a winger in Trevor Lewis that's been around, lots of experience and will help propel the oilers in the right direction NOW. Something Pulujarvi wasn't doing. Will help with the issue on the wing in Edmonton.

Additional Details:

NYI is getting their pick back, and taking Kyle brodziak to replace Filppula. Filppula is aging and the end and possibly near. NYI could pick up a good prospect in the future while Brodziak holds the place. With Filppula aging Edmonton would still get 2-3 good years out of him which is what they need to fix the issues NOW in hopes of a brighter future. If nothing else Filppula will atleast get the ball rolling.

Additional Details:

Assuming LA is going full on rebuild they would probably be inticed to shed 4m in cap hit, and get an early second rounder from Edmonton for Toffoli who hasn't been performing at 4m$ expectations. He's young enough and quick enough, that if you put him up front with the likes of Leon, RNH, and McDavid he could really shine and break out as a star. With the wing being the biggest issue in EDM Toffoli could be the perfect fit.

Not sure how you can say the all favour EDM with a straight face. None of the trades really make sense but they aren’t all in EDM favour. JP and pick for Lewis.. Lewis a 4th liner 20 point guy making 2M a year.

As for the other trades NYI are making the playoffs no reason for them to trade Filppula and Oilers likely sellers so no reason to lose a pick for a UFA. CAR trade would need a prospect added at minimum and for Sekera to show he can still play. Russell might get a 3rd if there’s retention on his 4M

fair enough ill give you 4/5 trades are terrible. JP for Trevor Lewis might be a little uneven . JP is hot trash, dudes just another casualty of a terrible organization, oilers might aswell try to get something for him before his value becomes nothing
