Description
I'm trying to figure out who GM Paul Fenton might be targeting with the cap space he as accumulated from the trades he has already made. I don't particularly like the UFA crop, but here's a couple I would welcome to the Wild...as well as other stuff.
I like Brock Nelson, but I also think he is too old for what I think the Wild should do...however, it just feels like something the Wild will do...so I did it.
I'm probably underpaying Karlsson...what do you think he's worth?

Trades
1.
MIN
  1. 2019 1st round pick (WPG)
WPG
  1. Staal, Eric
Additional Details:
2018/19 deadline deal. My best guess as to what it will cost to resign him.
2.
MIN
  1. 2019 1st round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Rights to C William Karlsson (sign and trade)
Value opinions always welcome.
VGK
  1. Spurgeon, Jared
  2. Zucker, Jason
Additional Details:
Zucker gets new life back home and Spurgeon instantly makes the Knights a much, much better team!
3.
MIN
  1. Ristolainen, Rasmus
Additional Details:
Other RHD I would be interested in include: Brandon Carlo, Justin Faulk, Josh Manson, Ryan Pullock, Neal Pionk, Noah Juulsen, Rasmus Andersson, among others. Obviously, this trade would be adjusted based on who is coming back to the Wild, but Granlund is the key piece...and the trade can be balanced out as needed with prospects and/or picks from either side.
BUF
  1. Belpedio, Louis
  2. Granlund, Mikael
Additional Details:
Granlund playing with Eichel or Mittelstadt could be absolute magic!

Eh if I’m Buffalo I’m passing. Lack of team control and age doesn’t fit the timeline.

Honestly there's only two players I'd want us to potentially sign: Point and Erik Karlsson. The four 1st round picks would be worth it to offer sheet Point, especially if our pick is a top 10 pick this year (which we wouldn't have to give up since the signing period is after the draft). Having Point and one of Hughes, Cozens, Turcotte, Dach, or Zegras as your 1-2 punch would be incredible (at least on paper), especially with Kaprizov on their wing. Of course, Point would actually have to sign the offer sheet. I'm a little less keen on Karlsson since he would cost a lot of money, but he's an elite offensive talent on the blue line and he'd make Spurgeon expendable so we could move him for a very large return. A lot of people on here may not know how good Spurge is, but scouts definitely do since they actually watch Wild games. In Russo's mailbag today someone mentioned Nylander and Russo offered that Toronto would be interested in Spurgeon, I would be ecstatic if we could make a deal revolving around these two.

Nelson is kind of more of the same for us to me: a two-way guy that is a left shot center. William Karlsson had a magical season last year but I'm not sure he has it in him to do it again. He's a great 2C on a contender, but not a guy I'd want as a 1C for the long-term.

I agree you with if we could sign Erik Karlsson on defense with Dumba would be such a great 1-2 punch on defense and as you stated if we offersheet Point and Draft Cozens, Dach, or Turcotte would be an insane 1-2 punch on forward and defense

We could probably only afford EK or Point, not both. I'd prefer Point even if we had to give up the picks. We desperately need a 1C, and Dumba is a great 1RD which makes EK a little redundant.

Yeah rather have the #1 over Karlsson since we have Dumba which was expected to score 30+ goals this year but probably 20-25 from a Defenseman is crazy

Fenton is just planning on giving Bitetto, Aberg and Hendricks raises. sarcasm (kind of)

What does Dantano get this offseason a $1.5m bridge deal if he shows he can stick?

I don't think GMPF has anyone specifically in mind with any money he's saved. I think he's just trying to get himself a decent cap situation to work with.
-Granny/Spurgeon could be really big hits if they are re-signed after next season.
-The next expansion draft is coming and having some money set aside to be able to be buyers, or at the very least not be handcuffed because of multiple bloated contracts and NMCs.
-an OS for Kapanen (max pay for only a 2nd rounder).
