Wild Retool

Created by: BlacknGold4life
Team: 2018-19 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 24, 2019
Published: Feb. 24, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Oilers pay a steep price to actually have the depth to be good and get some cap flexibility.
Trades
1.
2.
TOR
  1. Spurgeon, Jared
  2. 2019 2nd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Added the 2nd round pick but Kapanen will need a raise and can't be easily kept. This is a great way to improve the D without in the future impacting the cap. Sets leafs up for the next two years.
3.
MIN
  1. Lucic, Milan
  2. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  3. 2019 1st round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. Kessel, Phil ($3,400,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Phil Kessel at 3.4M is a steal no matter how you slice it and the Oilers finally have a legit top-end top 6. Clear up some much needed cap space by getting rid of Lucic. 1st is draft protected. But Wild get a good 1st round spot to rebuild/retool.

Greenway isn't available in any capacity. Our FO is extremely high on him.

Not sure what you mean by the pick is draft protected, since that would mean it's protected from the draft, meaning we can't use it...? I think you meant top 10 protected, and there's no chance in hell that we are giving up Zucker and Greenway for one of the worst contracts in the league, a worrying prospect, and a pick that can't be in the top 10.

I'd do that Toronto trade without the 2nd round pick. Spurgeon is an absolute gem.

Would love Kappen in Minnesota brings to Much to the table speedy right shot forward and I really wouldn’t mind Zaitsev on team pair him with Brodin that’s a good shutdown d-Paring and if we Trade Granlund to Nashville for Tolvanen him and Kappen on a line would be insane to watch then we have Zucker to move up in the Draft and I really want Fenton to ship Staal for either a 1st round pick or a Prospect

Tolvanen would be great, but Donato does fill the role that Tolvanen would play here. Can't have too many snipers or else nobody will be able to pass the puck, lol, but I'd be very happy with a Granny for Tolvanen+ deal. Kapanen would be awesome, although I really don't think Toronto wants to move him. Seems like Dubas is content with standing pat after the Muzzin deal.

I'm really starting to doubt we could get a 1st for Staal, but maybe. It's tough since most the teams that want him are probably on his list. The hope would be that at the least we're offered a 2nd + prospect/young roster player. I'd really like to see him moved tomorrow if he truly isn't a part of our long-term plan.
