Description

My best trade idea was make a trade to get Martinez and Toffoli. But, based on JR statements, try to get a player like Petrovic is more realistic. He's a type of d-man that we don't have in our roster. A shutdown one. And we're still getting a good penalty killer.

Well, I take Johnson out of the trade, then.

We dont need other people defensive slop.

We should be happy to take any of Minnisotas top 3 defenseman though because theyre actually good.
Otherwise we can fill the gaps through Riikola and calling up Prow till Letang and Maatta are back. Dumoulin might be out for a while but thats it.

What we really need is a forward or two that are actually good. Preferably a centre and a winger.
Hayes and Duchene are gone so the next best thing would be to look at Minnisota again for Granlund, Staal, Spurgeon. Give them almost anything they want. But that means giving them contracts like Bjugstad, Pearson, Johnson to makes the cap work. But get ready to cough up the 2019 1st.
Stone and Panarin are 26, young, and still available and once in a GM tenure type players.

Sorry to disappoint you, but JR disagrees. He thinks we need just a rental RHS d-man.
