Oilers 2019-2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is probably a ridiculous notion, but I just wanted to see if it could be done. Karlsson at 11M x 4 years. Is that even tempting for him? His injury history is really starting to pile up so I wonder what he'll be offered on the open market. This would make him the highest paid D for the moment. That may be the best he gets. I dunno. I'm sure many will disagree. And the forwards look pretty weak and are depending on youngsters stepping up, so that's not ideal either.

Nashville is one of the last teams that would want that Russell contract

Yeah, I didn't put a lot of thought/research into where I traded Sekera and Russell to. Would these be possible places on Russell's trade list: Calgary, Colorado, Nashville, Winnipeg, Dallas, Vancouver, San Jose, Arizona, Vegas?

NJD and MTL are also thin on the left side

But would those teams be on his 10 team trade list? I think his criteria would be: 1) Contender or close to contender, 2) Maybe somewhere with a bit of a cowboy culture. I'm definitely projecting there. Maybe he doesn't give a **** about cowboy culture. But his dad was a rodeo clown and he has come back to Alberta twice and played in Texas. His twin brother is an amateur scout for San Jose. Hence the teams I listed. Teams that meet both 1) & 2): Calgary, Nashville, San Jose, Vegas, Winnipeg (not so much for cowboy culture but it is a farming province). - Dallas, Colorado and Arizona are fighting for that last playoff spot so I wouldn't call them contenders although they have some good future pieces. Maybe CBJ (played in CBJ with his twin) and maybe MIN (next closest proximity to home) would be on his list, or maybe he simply goes with the best teams and TBL, NYI, BOS & TOR are on his list. who knows.... wow, rambling now.
