All three teams say no to edm, no way does sekera and 3rd get you hamilton. Yamamoto, 1st and sekera for hamilton. other two trades are even worse, 2nd AND russell for a 7th, La trade isnt too awful

Because we're retaining almost a million bucks which saves Carolina cap, gives them a good dman, and a 3rd rounder.....

A first rounder alone is too much for Hamilton. He's having a career low. Overpaying for him looks like another Lucic deal to me

Sekera is an average dman who gets injured all the time ... at this point sekera is almost considered a cap dump if you actually want Hamilton it’d be more along the lines of sekera, puls and atvthe very least a 2nd maybe even a first (top 10 protected)

Looking back the third should have been a second. With that I agree

If I was LA I'd do that deal.

Lewis is a dime a dozen, his career high is 26 points and he's 32 years old. Rattie is on pace for 20 points this season and is 6 years younger.

Toffoli vs Poolparty, Yamamoto and 2 picks seems like a great retool option. I don't think Toffoli is worth that much more than a 2nd and 1 of those prospects, but to get all 4 assets seems great.

D. Hamilton is this generation's Michael Petit, a journey Dmen no team wants to keep for longer than a couple of seasons.

Hamilton isn't as good as people want him to be but he's a legit top 4 guy who can play pp and penalty kill minutes. His cap number is 5.7 which isn't crazy for his skill set. He needs to find a home where he can anchor the second pair.

What and how? He is a top 5 dman this season, and is top 10 every year. Second defence man behind only Rielly for 5v5 goals, second to only Karlsson in 5v5 cf%, and yeah he's having a down year total points wise, but still, 31st among d for 5v5 points, very down year for power play points but he's sitting at 50th among defenceman for power play time per game, you are greatly underestimating (more like completely ignoring) his defensive ability, skill and career. He is worth at least a 1st and a very good prospect or a very good young top 6 forward.
