if you offer sheet a player and he accepts, you don't have to trade another player to Carolina. Just the 3rd rounder and that's it. You can keep lehkonen.

Why trading Suzuki for another 3rd line guy? He's a 40 pts player not a potential 60-70pts like Suzuki. Not a chance MTL does that

Yeah I know, but I don't want to offer sheet him. I just want to swap rights.

    McGinn rights vs Lehkonen rights

Jordan Weal also got impressive numbers in junior, and he is far far from a 60-70pts production.
OHL numbers are OHL numbers, maybe he'll be very good in NHL, but maybe not, nobody knows.

Habs have Poelhing and Ylonen as great great prospects, so I'd sacrifice Suzuki to get a first plan winger that can help them right now. Anderson might not be a good fit, which first plan winger would you target offering Suzuki?

I would only trade him in a package to get a top 2 pick or a guy like Huberdeau.

Oh ok well FYI you can do that now without doing the offer sheet part. Just do the trade like you'd normally do it. They've added the RFA's to the trade section so you can trade rights. No need to offer sheet and then make the trade afterwards.
