Ottawa would want to get rid of bobby ryan. Wingers still arent very good and that's a lot to pay for someone who hasn't ever played in the nhl

If you are trading with VGK it is for them to GAIN cap space. You are not trading them Russel at 1 million retained to be just slightly cheaper (and significantly worse) than Miller. I get the value of a first and decent prospect in Bear (frankly I think Edmonton is a little nuts trading a non protected first) but I just don't think it makes sense for VGK
