SCORING WINGERS

Description
The easiest solution to EDM's roster problem is building two scoring units through free agency. I would much prefer to see EDM run McD, Drai & RNH as centres however as most Oilers fans know they dont have the cap space to build 3 scoring lines nor do they have the trade assets to make it happen without mortgaging the future. Long term assuming some prospects Puljujarvi, Yamamoto, Benson, Marody, etc pan out it will allow EDM to run 3C

They have 3 of 6 spots filled for next season, and i believe it gives them the best chance to win if they run the lines as such:
Drai - McD - UFA / Kassian
UFA - RNH - UFA

I went with McGinn & Connelly however Dzingle, Johanssen, Ferland, Donskoi are also options.

*Also i believe the negativity / distractions surrounding Lucic is toxic and the Oilers need to move him, not to mention his on ice play, outside the odd shift, leads me to believe he cannot play in the NHL anymore

Very well could be a better fit and likely a better player. Will probably see a bigger pay day too

This is well thought out!
I really like it.
I agree with you on moving on from Lucic.... and I was excited when we signed him. Unfortunately, the contract has turned the player into a lightning rod in this town. Obviously it is an extremely tough contract to move - but you have a good option with FLA. There are some outside the box options for sure.
We should be able to add 2 scoring wingers in UFA (my preference would be Dzingle, Ferland and Connelly in that order. 2 of them would be ideal.

Probably. I wouldn't pay him more though. Here are their scoring rates (5v5 p/60) over the past 3 years:

Dzingel
2016-17: 1.67
2017-18: 1.65
2018-19: 2.09

Connolly
2016-17: 1.98
2017-18: 1.74
2018-19: 2.68

Both players are spiking this year, I'm not confident either will be able to maintain this years pace over a 3-5 year contract, but Connolly has been better historically. Also, Dzingel has had much better linemates than Connolly this year: Duchene / Ryan in OTT, Duchene / Anderson in CBJ vs Eller / Burakovsky. Dzingel is a better skater though, so if you feel this will ease the inevitable decline then I could see giving Dzingel a similar contract to Connolly.

Johansson
2016-17: 1.75
2017-18: 1.86
2018-19: 1.36

Ferland
2016-17: 1.45
2017-18: 2.05
2018-19: 1.85

Donskoi
2016-17: 0.98
2017-18: 1.85
2018-19: 1.93

Without a deeper looking at age, position, linemates, etc., Johansson might be a good buy-low candidate this summer. Ferland is the opposite player-type. If I had to choose just one of these three I'd probably go with Donskoi, who displays some of the qualities of each of the other players.

For reference here are McGinn's numbers:

2016-17: 1.40
2017-18: 1.56
2018-19: 2.10 (just 18 games)

He'll be 31 this summer. I wouldn't pay him $3M.

$3M isn't a bad deal considering it is a 1 year deal however McGinn as a long term option i would not do.
Donskoi is ideal to me as well and there is a solid chance he shakes loose from SJ along with Nyquist.
