Description

Ray makes a deal with NSH who have a plethora of defencemen and need some cap space to sign Josi to an extension. DET is in need of some young defence and the price for Athanasiou comes down a bit for taking Franzen off the books. Ray sells Duchene on playing for a team poised to become a contender.

Franzen doesn't cost Detroit anything. Why would the cost come down to take him? Also not sure that is enough to get Ekholm. I don't think they move a defenseman to sign Josi, most likely will move a forward like turris but could be wrong there.

True he doesn't count against the cap, but DET still pays Franzen his salary and have been for years now. Gives the franchise a break from paying him 4 million not to play. Im banking on the fact Ray knows David Poile well enough he can persuade him to give up Ekholm. Not many teams are taking Turris with that cap hit and term

Nash as no need to shed any salary next season... Josi signature is in 2020-2021 and they have Smith & Hamius that are moving out UFA.

Interesting moves!
If you move Sevs, Vats stays on the right, no?
Then Ek is #1 LHD with Sami on right
Smith at #2 LHD Butcher moves to RHD
Greene at #3 LHD Santini RHD
Davies as extra

I think Sami gets moved before Sevs IMO
Maybe Santini moves and Carrick takes his place. I like SS but seems liek coaching staff is not onboard. Also Mueller is underrated and should only be moved for his rights
Nsh will be heavy on the right side now with Fabbro. Talk of PK moving on
