I think Myers would be a great addition but that's way too low a number on him, by like 3 mil. He's for sure not going to take a pay cut, especially to come to the Ducks. And if Kesler some how is fit enough to play he won't be bought out I think. That's a hell of a cap burden for six years but a team that rarely takes that option. But I think it's safe to assume him and Eaves will be on IR for the rest of their careers, Eaves for sure so that could give this team more cap room to sign someone like Myers to a realistic contract. But as I've made the point in other threads, that would be a huge departure from how Murray operates in the summer.

As for Ritchie, he drives me crazy a lot of the time but we shouldn't just be giving away a young player who can put up a decent amount of points while making peanuts the next two years. His contract might the best Murray and McNab have squeezed out of a player yet and that's saying something.

I'm also not comfortable running with Boyle as our backup. He had a good stretch of games but that's a big risk considering Gibson's injury history. I'd rather invest in a quality backup again.

I agree for the most part. My thoughts with Myers is adding other incentives like games played or performance bonuses. On top of that, I wanted to factor in contract time. I think getting 4.5 x 5 vs maybe 6.5 x 3 makes sense. He's 29 now, so figuring he'll be under contract till 34 isn't bad for him. But I can definitely see him signing 6 x 5 which to me is a bit overpaid.

As far as Kesler goes, it's really muddy because how much comes in to play. If he can play, but won't play as well as he can like he as this season then he's going to. He won't go on LTIR without his consent and medical staff clearing it. So a buyout is possible but 100% not ideal. Eaves is a given on LTIR or buried. He won't see the NHL again either way. And Murray will have to make a lot of departures this year from his norm to make this team work. His bargain signings of guys like Street, Rowney, Gibbons, etc cant keep going if the youth is ready to move up.

Ritchie has always been a sore spot for me. He's never going to be a top 6 guy and really fits a role spot. His contract is definitely the silver lining there, but I think at some point you have to move on from him while he as value. BM gets impatient with prospects and role players who eventually will want more money, and Ritchie is comparable to Maroon and Belesky in a lot of ways. I think the part I really start to think about is, who are the people I have to play and who do I play Ritchie over? Getz, Perry, Rakell, Henrique, Silf, Kase, Steel, Jones, Terry, Sprong are all players I want to see play every possible game. You have Shore, Rowney, Ritchie plus guys like Comtois, Lundestrom, Roy, Kopacka, etc all wanting to make the jump too. At a certain point, people have to go. Perry would be a great guy to move but it won't happen. Ritchie and Shore are the guys who make sense, but Ritchie has the return.

And same, but honestly back up goalies are to speculate on who wants to go where. Miller may stay, but if not the goalie market is saturated this off season. Lehner, Talbot, Elliot, Mrazek are just a few UFAs. Throw any of those guys in there at 2 mil or less.

Definitely appreciate the feedback and love the perspective.
