Idk why Ottawa makes that trade. MacArthur and Gaborik on lite and will have their salaries covered by insurance while counting against the cap.... This doesn't makes sense for ottawa

Sens need cap hits.
Useful players 4 useless junk that aren't helping make cap floor.
Maybe Sens don't want Lucic, but they need to reach the floor.

MacArthur and Gaborik ARE cap hits: $9.525M to be exact. In the trade above OTT is trading $12.625M away and getting $11.125M back - it makes zero sense for them if they're trying to reach the cap floor.

well probably because there's an 8th overall pick included with the 2 competent NHL players to insulate their kids

If they want competent players they can sign 3rd/4th liners on cheap deals than trade for guys who they actually have to pay salary of.

Even with Gaborik and Mac on LTIR their cap hit still count so 100% they do not trade them
