He's not that old and hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. You're acting like he's 33 or 34 with 5 years to go. He should be fine to be his normal high value playmaker for the duration of his contract. He's not the greatest of shooters nor is he the fastest of skaters. He has great awareness of where the open man is and makes it look effortless. That type of high skill player typically lasts well into their 30's.

He'll be 27. Put up a season that was on pace for 60 points in 82 games. Plays sound defensively and he'll sign for less than $7 million for 4 or 5 years? I don't see that as a UFA. Maybe if here were an RFA.
