Description

Monahan is a great player but he doesn't have the wheels to sustain his regular season numbers for a long career. You can already see his speed, or lack there of, affecting our top line. I don't see it getting better and I don't see us getting past a round or 2 in the future with him as our #1C. I'm a huge mony supporter but sometimes you have to be a realist and look long term.

You pretty much gave in the description a reason for Stars to decline that trade.

We need Klingberg more than Monahan.

Yes but Monahan would not have to be the #1C in Dallas. Him as a #2 would help take immense pressure off of Seguin.

DAL has their future centers planned. Seguin, Hintz/Dellandrea, Faksa, Dickinson...centers are solved. But if we were to move Klingberg, literally our best RHD would be Roman f***ing Polak.

Tkachuk at 8.5m? I have a feeling he'll want more. I'm curious to see what they give him because the Flames look like they get people to buy in on cheaper than market value contracts.
