I need help with this, I moved marleau to non-roster as a retirement .

I need to move both Nylander and zaitsev but really don't know how to do this , looking for suggestions .......

Well.. first of all, Nylander is not getting moved.. second of all Zaitsev would be likely sold for like a 5th and mistreated prospect.

So are we all, including Dubas.

The miracle trade would be Nylander, Zaitsev and Toronto's 2020 first for Adam Larsson and Edmonton's 2019 first, but somehow I doubt that's happening.

Ok interesting. i'll give it another go with keeping nylander and moving zaitzev. i will still be over the cap with that move so maybe it's moving someone like conner brown for a 5th as well.

It's a crazy scenario for the leafs and i feel like to improve the defence , and keep the guys that they should be keeping together they probably have to move out 6-10 mill in salary.

What kind of moves would you do besides just moving out zaitsev.

I see this all the time then who is getting moved? Mathews? Marner? Johnsson and Kapanen?Brown and Marleau? One way or another you have to move 10 million. What happens if Marner gets offered 10.5 mill. Do you pick Nylander as your 3rd. line center and move Kadri and Marleau which will cost you dearly. I have not seen any realistic options in 6 months. Some have 20 players, some have 21, some are 7 mill. over the cap get real somebody please.

If you watch my takes I always have 23 players and 83 cap and im under. Marleau can be moved, Kadri can be moved for a good good package and also Zaitsev but I dont think Zaitsev gets moved. Brown too.

I agree with all of this except for one thing. It's the marleau thing. He has the NMC which i really firmly believe he would rather retire than be moved. He uprooted his entire family from San Jose to come to T.O. , i just don't see him doing that again.

(1) A lot of Rangers ACGM's have recently soured on Neal Pionk. Pionk for Zaitsev (plus)?
(2) I've suggested packaging Kapanen and Zaitsev, first for Nick Jensen (too late now) and then for Scott Mayfield. Maybe you can find something along those lines.
(3) I can think of a few Western Conference teams that could use Kadri as a #2 center. Either alone or in a package with Zaitsev, you could construct some reasonable exchanges.
(4) An almost universally accepted trade by now is Connor Brown for Matthew Benning or Edmonton's third-round pick.

Marleau has NMC, Kadri limited NTC, however, assuming you move all three its 12,800,000 in cap relief. Marner 10,500,000, Kapanen and Johnsson 3,500,000 each totals 17,500,000. The fuzzy math never adds up.

Add 7mil with Gardiner and hainsey gone plus 3 mil of cap raise, distract 3 mil for replacements. Should be fine I guess.

?!?!? Marleau is $6.25M and Kadri and Zaitsev are $4.5M each, so the sum is $15.25M. That plus a cap rise of $3M is $18.25M. The problem is that there's no realistic way you can move Marleau, at least that I know of.
