    Good luck dumping players like Spooner, Sutter or Eriksson. No one is taking them especially in exchange to players that are in LTIR. Teams can maneuver with assets like those much better than with cap dumps no team necessarily wants...

    Why exactly Gaborik doesn't count? Doesn't the cap hit affect to the team if he's just placed to the injured reserve?

    LTIR does not count towards cap.

    They don't put him in the LTIR, just on the IR then. Same goes with MacArthur.

    https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/senators c'mon just look at the team. They're placed on the injury reserve, thus they have an effect on the cap.
