Because he was playing in the playoffs with a torn ACL and is having surgery with a minimum of 6 month recovery time?

Not sure if the Oilers could afford that. 8th overall is interesting, but outside the Top 3-5 (Hughes, Kakko, Podzolkin, Byram, Dach) I think there is a steep dropoff in terms of skill and potential. Some players have been touted to have Chris Krieder potential in the Top 10, which isnt bad but I'd prefer a Nylander over a Krieder esque player.

If it was Bouchard + 8th overall that would be a quick and easy deal. (Not sure if the Oil would want to do that though)
