Dorofeyev definitely won't make it that far into the draft. Other than that it all seems reasonable

who's your top 5? if Byram is available at 6 Detroit takes him but if not I think it's Zegras. they took a big center from the WHL in 2017, I don't think they make that pick if it's Yzerman at the draft table

1. Hughes
2. Kakko
3. Turcotte
4. Cozens
5. Zegas

I can't see Byram being selected until the teens.

Sadowy (ECHL talent level vs 50 contact limit) and Frk (one dimensional regressed) are not going to be re-signed.

Byram will be picked in the top 6. Guaranteed. I think he’ll be gone before the Wings pick so Dach could be the pick. But if Pods was available they’d wait out the KHL for the two years.

Re-signing Nyquist to a long-term deal would be a huge mistake.

Rassmussen will play in the AHL as Jr team transfer rights are no longer an issue. Svenchnikov gains another year of waiver exemption b/c he was on IR all year so he’ll be in the AHL too.—he’s not dying so IR again? Not that I’ve heard.

I can see Söderström ahead of Byram. Besides that, I just have a ton of forwards going to the top 10 (Caufield, Krebs, Zegras)

I put Frk in the minors. Svenchnikov might need time in the AHL as well for rehab, but Rassmussen is ready for the NHL.

Frk won’t be re-signed. He was placed on waivers and was passed on the depth chart by many players when more ice time resulted in fewer goals. Look at the 50 contract rule and look at all the picks Detroit has had recently.

Rassmussen is not NHL ready. Look at his points and TOI per game and see how badly he faded after December. He was only in the NHL because of his Jr club transfer rights. Those rights are now done. If you don’t understand that look it up. He will be in the AHL next year and get time on ice to grow his game.
