We're (B)aaack!

Created by: Moog121
Team: 2016-17 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 9, 2016
Published: Jun. 10, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Upgrade D - Trade for Shat and get a Vet for low term (Campbell). Swap RFA's Krug for Nichushkin who gives them some RW upside instead of overpaying for Eriksson or Okposo. Krug has heart but may find it difficult playing top 4 minutes over a long period. Liles can help QB PP and provide depth. Stempy and Kelly add depth and production at low cost while allowing youth to move in next year.

Definitely going to have to give up more for Shattenkirk

I would go as high as the SJ # 1 pick plus Spooner or throw in Debrusk since they are flush at LW if Vesey signs. The key would be resigning Shat so he isn't a one and done.

Not sure I'd give up much more for Shattenkirk. He isn't a #1 like some think he is. He showed in the playoffs he can struggle massively. I mean, Parayko outplayed him, and is the reason he's expendable.

I do not want Shattenkirk. He might have had the worst playoff of any player on any team. He gives me Dennis Wideman type nightmares.

Bruins would be better off going out and signing Yandle and saving the assets for Shattenkirk and trying to for a Trouba or something similar (style wise. They just need a solid two-way guy). I don't see a difference between Yandle and Shattenkirk, besides age. Shattenkirk will probably get 6.5-7+ million on his next deal too. At least Yandle SHOULD (and i emphasize should, since you never know what other teams are thinking) come in cheaper than that.
