Retooling the team, mainly the forward core. I don't think it's time for a full rebuild in Minnesota just yet.

Let me know what you would do/wouldn't.

Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Beauvillier, Anthony [RFA Rights]
  2. 2020 1st round pick (NYI)
NYI
  1. Zucker, Jason
Additional Details:
Getting younger and getting picks. Beauvillier is a good young roster player that has great offensive upside and a first round pick would really help Minnesota if things went further south next year. The Islanders get that much needed top 6 offensive help.
2.
MIN
  1. 2020 5th round pick (NYR)
NYR
  1. Åberg, Pontus [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
No real use for Aberg but NYR could use a young forward in the bottom 6.
3.
MIN
  1. Goldobin, Nikolay [RFA Rights]
  2. Granlund, Markus [RFA Rights]
VAN
  1. Rask, Victor
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Trading struggling players for struggling players. Both Goldobin and Granlund are fairly young and can provide a lot to MIN. Vancouver gets a young roster player that can play up and down the lineup and can put up points.

I do like the Zucker trade except I’d rather give someone like Ho-Sang or Bellows who are both ready for the NHL next year IMO. I’m not ready to trade our best players best friend. All the other trades are good and make sense

I really considered Ho Sang for that trade bur settled on Beauvillier. That makes sense that the Islanders may not want to trade him at this time however.

VAN decline they don't need another bad contract. They already have enough centers.

Rask has been playing a lot on the wing towards the end of the season. He can play top line minutes on the wing next to Horvat/Pettersson and Boeser.

The only real bad contract VAN has is Eriksson, and the Rask contract isn’t really that bad. He’s still only 26.
