Possible Marner trades
Unfortunately I see many holes, the OTT one in particular, a middle 6 center (which the leafs dont even need) and an OK defenseman equals a extremely talented, 90 point scorer? Ottawa would most certainly be coughing up Brannstrom and White/Batherson for that deal to be close. The NYR one doesn't fit TOR needs anyway, as they already have two first line centers in Matthews and Tavares, what would they possibly need Zib for? The DET one is pretty off the mark as well, as Hronek and Athanasiou dont meet the level of Marner, even though I do really like Athanasiou, and perhaps that 2020 DET pick will be a golden lottery ticket to a top 5 pick in the draft.
Some of these I think aren't that bad however, like the PHI one I think meets the needs and talent level, the CHI and CGY ones aren't bad either. I'd go as far to say that the CHI one yields the best assets, given that Strome can find success away from Debrincat and Kane.
All things considered, the trades aren't very equal in value to one another, as there are some ok ones and some awful ones. Perhaps you should work to make the trades even on both sides, for all of them.

Would Chevy consider trading Connor
You know, that's not a terrible trade; Darnell Nurse is a good place to start, however EDM would have to add. I believe the price would be Nurse and Benson/Yamamoto for Connor. Perhaps a pick also going that way. Connor is the perfect player to ride shotgun with McDavid on that top line in EDM.

WPG declines. That is quite a mediocre return for Laine. You'd probably start with Hamilton/Pesce and Necas and go from there.

While I do like the idea of Toffoli coming to the Canes, the return is just too much. I would honestly not go much farther than a 2nd round pick.

This is just a trade proposal. I didn't bother with the whole team this time.

Eriksson finally unloaded
I really like the idea of Goldobin to EDM. He could probably start the year out in the top 6 and slot in nice with Draisaitl and McJesus on that first line.

I wouldn't consider JT Miller a "cap dump". He is a good top 6 player who can get you a good amount of points.

Vegas would probably want more for Colin Miller. I'd expect at least a 2nd round pick going with Baertschi.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brocklesnar</b></div><div>VAN decline they don't need another bad contract. They already have enough centers.</div></div>
Rask has been playing a lot on the wing towards the end of the season. He can play top line minutes on the wing next to Horvat/Pettersson and Boeser.
The only real bad contract VAN has is Eriksson, and the Rask contract isn’t really that bad. He’s still only 26.

Solid team, however Binnington might ask for more money. I'm thinking in the 4m/4 year ballpark.

I really considered Ho Sang for that trade bur settled on Beauvillier. That makes sense that the Islanders may not want to trade him at this time however.

Close but not very good for Pittsburgh. If they want to trade Kessel to Dallas, it would start with Lindell, a prospect and a first/high second. Pitts wants some fresh legs on that blueline so they'll definitely be inquiring about Lindell.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ConnorsCousin</b></div><div>It feels like Laine and Connor are both underpaid. I would think Connor gets around 8M and Laine around 9M.</div></div>
Laine came off a really bad year. If I was Cheveldayoff I wouldn't even give him more than 7.5 on a bridge deal. Connor maybe, but I feel he needs to eclipse 70-75 points for that to happen. I'm of the opinion of players should be paid according to what they have already done, instead of what they have potential for.

Yeah I debated heavily on trading Voracek initially. I figured since he's already 29 he may not want to play for a non contending organization at this point but now it's clear that he needs to stick around. I really like the Flyer's young prospects however, they'll be an exciting team in a year or 2 tops.

I don't think MTL will trade Domi for Gio. Gio had a great year, yes, but he is a decade older than Domi and may only have about 2 or so years left in him. MTL doesn't want to give Domi up unless it's for a king's ransom.

Accelerated rebuild
I wouldn't even consider an accelerated rebuild. A rebuild should be slow and thorough, addressing everything that the team needs . You really should hang on to your prospects and draft picks instead of trading them away for a long shot at contention.
