Discussion welcomed. I usually like to do full team builds but I do like pondering trades involving star players. What might you guys do to drive Kessel to Calgary?

Additional Details:

Fair trade in my opinion; for an established 1st and 2nd line scorer in Kessel, the Flames give a solid, albeit not great roster player to save cap (Bennett), a young and promising defenseman (Andersson) and a first round pick. Both sides benefit as Calgary seems to have a logjam of young defensemen coming up next year they can spare one.

This is just a trade proposal. I didn't bother with the whole team this time.

These teams don’t matchup real well as trade partners. Flames are gonna need Andersson, as good as Kessel is, Andersson is the future on for back end for the Flames

Value, I don't think it's crazy, Calgary just isn't in a spot to give up roster pieces, especially young controllable pieces. Andersson should be a non starter for the Flames front office. Of their you D I think Kylington is the only movable piece and that won't do enough to move the needle for the Penguins.

Now you have $8M left to sign 2 goalies and Tkachuk. Not to mention that there's at least a decent chance Kessel wouldn't want to go to Calgary.

Ahh... No. We need Bennett's grit and Andersson is more untouchable for us than Gaudreau. I might be exaggerating there but the point is Andersson will not get moved. The only piece Calgary would actually think about giving up in this trade is the 1st. Bennett is more important to us than people think
