I feel like that's a massive overpayment for Tierney. Ritchie is already a good young player for the Ducks and worth more than Tierney.

I just don't know how Rakell gets traded without getting a top notch prospect back. There's certainly things coming back, but I would take Rakell longterm for $3.7893 than 2 OK prospects and a 2nd rounder. Even in a down year, Rakell still put up 43 points in 69 games. Not great, but considering the injuries (and missing a big chunk of time), it's still very good.

When it comes to Ritchie, I'd wouldn't be heartbroken to see him moved, I don't think this is a great move. Plus/minus is one of the dumbest stats in the NHL, but when you considering their -52 goal differential, the fact that he came out as a plus player speaks volumes to the fact that he's not a liability in his own end. Ritchie for Tierney seems like a pretty lateral move, which is fine, but throwing in a second seems like a bit much.

He also seemed to find his game a bit more under Murray. 9 pts in his last 12 games of the season is obviously a small sample size to finish the season, but that's the same time as his role really changed.

I like the idea of signing Myers, but it'll obviously depend on the Kesler situation.

End of the day, I think I'd much rather see what a new coach (hopefully Eakins) can get out of this team, and then make some smaller moves in-season as required. If they can stay healthy, they're dangerous. If not, sell off some assets when the time comes.

I’m not a ducks fan just want to point that out first. You’re right about Rithcie being good under Murray but he won’t come back as coach and I think he would do better in Ottawa. It just seems like a deal that would benefit both sides. Obviously for Rakell it would be a tough pill to swallow but idk why there’s a second, I meant to put San Jose’s first which I think would be fair value. I think this team needs a shakeup and a youth movement bad, and even though Rakell is young, I think the first along with 2 pretty good prospects would do well for the Ducks. Hopefully they can build their future core with this draft because after the Rakell move you have 3 first round picks

I think they're a lot closer with the youth movement than most give them credit for. Murray has proven himself to be extremely efficient in the draft, which should help with their 2 firsts and their second this year. Another late first is nice, but it's not something that has any impact for 2-3+ years. I also don't see how Ritchie gets better in Ottawa, and if he does, the Ducks have overpaid significantly to watch him bloom.

With guys like Steel, Terry, Comtois, Olivier-Groulx, Morand, Mahura, etc. coming, plus a full, healthy season of Larsson, there's a great amount of youngsters coming, I don't see how you trade a guy who's arguably your best offensive player. Seems foolish to waste any time when you have one of the top 2 goalies on the planet.

I do like the idea of adding a solid vet on D though. Put him in with Fowler, Manson and Lindholm, and let Larsson/Mahura play up and down as needed.
