It feels like Laine and Connor are both underpaid. I would think Connor gets around 8M and Laine around 9M.

and trouba's ask last year was 7m.. he had a better year this year too

Laine came off a really bad year. If I was Cheveldayoff I wouldn't even give him more than 7.5 on a bridge deal. Connor maybe, but I feel he needs to eclipse 70-75 points for that to happen. I'm of the opinion of players should be paid according to what they have already done, instead of what they have potential for.

That's fine and I think everyone wants it to be like that however, reality is RFAs are getting boosted in AAV. Why would Connor/Laine take any less while other teams are overpaying for their RFAs.
