The Tampa Bay deal for Risto is actually spot on..... I think both teams are getting acceptable value in return.

I personally do not want anything to do with PK. He is too slow for today's game. His reaction time and inability to quickly move up the ice will be an albatross to how the game is played today. I think the Sabres can do better if they want to get a new Dman in the fold after trading Risto. I actually think that they could stand pat after dealing Risto promoting from Rochester and keeping the 2 first round selections.

The tampa deal is about positional cap. Tampa will be forced to shed all their d men except those on ECLs and Hedman. Basically moving Johnsons contract to D to make up for the losses. As the cap increases, Ristos age and contract will be more attractive.
