Columbus would need edmonton to take some cap back as a bumper. That could be all for not if rumors are true and Columbus takes tkachuk or a big center at 3

Tkachuk has interest from a lot of teams. But the Jackets really like Logan Brown. I just don't see Edmonton trading up. They need defense in the worst way. I could see a deal in which they could get some defense and we could get what we want.

Boyle has retired, otherwise, this looks decent, doubt Barrie will sign for less than 6 million though

You are not alone in thinking buying out Korpse is the way to go, but it would be better to either send him to the minors or trade him. He was named on the original Team Finland roster, so he is highly thought of by some GMs still. Should be able to get at least a 6th round pick for him.

He hasn't formally retired. May play one more year.

They need two right shot D this summer but I'm worried about draft protection. Davidson and Reinhart will be exposed already so it might be best to buy low on some UFA's to get through 16-17. With having to protect Sekera due to the NMC, I would want more flexibility on the back end before the expansion draft:
