I wasn't suggesting you. Sorry lol. I empathize with canucks fans. Because of management and do cheer for them sometimes. Sucks Benning and the owners won't do the right thing and rebuild. You guys have some nice pieces coming along. Love tramkin, boeser, joulevi wish they had the right mentor for virtanen. I think he needs a experienced power forward to help bring him along.
Go on YouTube and see what happened on ED Snyder night. Philly fans are Unbelievable. Im sure the flyers reporter is missing after calling the flyers fans classless lol.

I miss play offs lol. I got to witness 5 cups in my life time. I'm really fortunate. No team stays in the basement for ever. I think the hockey gods ar balancing things out because of the historic teams we've had. I can deal with extended bad for extended good. I can feel it coming. Draisaitl and mcd remind me so much of gretzky and messier. McDavid with his awareness, ability to make something from nothing and the way he uses the puck to push plays forward. Hes even starting to skate back into the neutral zone. Wish he could use the back of the net the same way. Different Era though back of the net play is harder. Draisaitl doesn't do the real dirty stuff like Mess did . To bad that Era is gone. Guys like kadri , Cooke etc. Would be leaving g the ice on a stretcher nightly</i></div></div>

Well fortunately for you, the Oilers are back on the upswing. I think so too...finally the Canadian teams are going to be good again. If 5 or 6 make the playoffs, then it makes it pretty hard for Bettman to rig the system. I watched McDavid when he came to town and he is something special (duh). I was blown away.

Vancouver's problem is that the market is so fickle many believe we won't accept a full rebuild. Edmonton, Toronto, Calgary - they all sell out regardless. Vancouver? Not so much, it's about winning - part of that is the demographics, the money in the city, and the general nature of Vancouverites. It's disappointing because being swept in the first round is worse than missing the playoffs when you're a team like us in my opinion.

Well the NHL has strangled the players' ability to police themselves with stupid rules the instigator penalty. But with what we know about concussions and post-hockey injuries, it's never going back. The game can't grow today if there is too much buffoonery, but the league has to do a better job of protecting the stars if they won't let the players do it themselves. Respect is gone from the game and that's a big issue.

I'll have to check that flyers clip out.</i></div></div>
NHL is junk at protecting it's players. Look at gaudreaus broken hand. Slash the f out his stick but once you hit the hands it's a penalty. Nhl needs an intent to injure major penalty. How many times did gaudreau get it over the hands? Like 10 or 12? No calls. F###ing garbage. Any intent to injure of any part of the body should be reviewed by player safety. Don't be light on the suspension either.

Very up and down career. Life of a career back up. Maybe this is the year he becomes a starter. Some goalies don't get good until their 30s. Ie Tim Thomas. Far and few between though.</i></div></div> As a goalie myself I can provide some of my own insight. Of course opinions are my own: Tim Thomas was the exception of exceptions - he would not have been able to play in the NHL that way for 15 years.. What separates the great goalies from good goalies from bad goalies is once the shooters get a book on you, the great ones adjust their game to equal the shooters. This is why we see so many flash in the pan goalies. They come in &amp; get hot because shooters don't see them much; then, they start to figure them out - their tendencies, style, etc. and the goalies have to adjust.

I think Johnson is underrated, but he has never played 50 games so it's impossible to know if he'll keep it up. I think what this means for Calgary is they don't need to rush to trade for Fleury. If Johnson keeps playing well, they can keep waiting closer to March 1. But if he starts to stumble, then they could pull the trigger. I wouldn't go into the playoffs with Johnson &amp; Elliott tbh. I know Elliott played well last year, but his problem is that he plays better in a structured system...not freewheeling one. It's like when Miller was traded to St. Louis - he struggled in their system but thrived in Buffalo's. He's played pretty well in Vancouver because our system is more similar to Buffalo's and he's a goalie that feeds off rhythm.

I still think Fleury would be a good get for Calgary. He would fit their system and his struggles I think are more due to his place on the club being supplanted. His pride and confidence are down in Pittsburgh. Give him a chance at another starting job and I think it will improve. Plus, CGY has him for 2 seasons, which is nice because when he hits my proclaimed "danger zone" (which is 34 + up) they can make a decision on him without being locked in.</i></div></div>

Fair enough makes perfect sense.
