Its a retool. Rebuild is when you are trading your core players... Blake has already said Kopitar and Doughty aren't going anywhere.

Well true but we wouldn't also give that much for a 3 years. Yes we need goal scoring but we need the young players have a chance and also by trading picks doesn't make sense. Doughty and Kopi are great players to have players get mentored by. I think we do trade Toffoli for picks/prospects, Carter hopefully, Martinez as well and Kovalchuck was a huge mistake when we signed him and even looks worse now so hopefully we can trade him even if that means retain salary.

Who is a 1 year rental? Kessel has 3 years. Trading guys like Toffoli, Carter, Quick, Martinez, and Kovalchuk for picks and prospects. We are retooling. Trading those guys for players that will improve our roster and sign in FA are actions of a retool. That's what we need to do while we can draft good and develop our prospects. Martinez and Kovalchuk don't need to go anywhere.
Kovalchuk did bad because the team did bad and because the 2 coaches were unfair with him.

We need to play young players. We could get good prospects for all of them. I don't know why we need a 31yr old with a cap hit of 6.8M with a attitude and I didn't meant to say rental my bad. We all ready have a deal cap trouble. We are used to winning so that's where fans of the kings get caught up on but in reality just like the Leafs before they got mitchy, Matty etc they traded players to rebuild and this is what we need. Not a retool, we need a rebuild. We are slow, can't score and older players and when that happens you need to play all the young players so they can develop no matter if they aren't good.

Doughty is 29 and Kopitar is 31. The core is in their prime.. They just need good players around them hence they need a retool not a rebuild.

Which we don't have hardly have. Keppers really for me are Ifallo,Kempe, prospects, clifford,Doughty,Kopi. The leafs did it good by taking there older or non useful players for picks and with that it took them 2 years to where they're now. Stupid trade for phanuef when u can put gaborik on LTIR and more. This team needs to see what they have in Vilarde,Kapari, Dolan,Kempe (more of), Grundstrom looked good when he played,Wagner,Durzi these are all guys if you have a train camp will be on the team and then possibly have another top pick next year. That being said if these players can impress coaching we will need spaces for them to play in and then trade guys for younger players. We are slow and slow teams don't win ANYTHING now.
