If Tor trades for Manson, unlikely, Zaitsev is 100% cap dump. He's a good 3rd pair on a good team, 2nd pair on a nonplayoff team. Five years is a long term....

97 Dmen currently have a contract of at least 4 years, 76 of at least 5. Zaitsev's cap hit is in the bottom half of those lists.

Has he underperformed? Sure. Do you have to pay a team to take him? No.

I must be the only one that believes they had a plan for him when they gave him so much term.
