Maybe the Canes taking Vanek, isn't wise for Carolina. They are still getting screwed cap wise with the signing of Seman. Maybe Arizona would want pick 15 in return.

I keep reading Carolina is one of the potential destinations for Datsyuk's contract, so they might be interested in in the 1 year left on Vanek's deal to get to the ceiling...

I'd rather pull Hanzal out of that deal than give up the 15th. I really want to see the Wild end up with 2 - 1st rounders.

I like your moves. If Vanek will accept the trade I'm all in on that! But with spurgeon and zucker I would rather get a different center because I'm not the biggest RNH fan plus the cap hit. But all in all I like your moves. Who would you put up for the expansion draft after the season is up? Dalpe, Downing & Lovejoy?

I would certainly ask for Draisaitl because I think he has more upside, but RNH would immediately be the best center in Wild history (sad but true).

I think the Wild would survive the loss of any of those three quite easily...

Taking Datsyuk's 7.5 cap hit at O actual dollars is completely different from taking Vanek's 6.5 cap hit for 7.5 million actual dollars.
