Expansion+ Trades w/ TOR, CGY, CHI
I agree but I see Chicago dumping a good amount of salaries this offseason. But if they don't you're absolutely right!

We can get better for Dumba. So no thanks! Dallas will give us the 3rd overall for him or Drouin from TB.

Thoughts also means counter offers. JEE has a very good chance of being better than marner plus centers are more valuable than winger just like D men are.

You are correct about dumba if he isn't traded before the exp draft

I like your thoughts... which package would you like to see/ which is the most likely?

Expansion
I agree Dumba is worth more than a mid first round pick I probably wouldn't trade him for a pick/picks until knowing the draft order. I also like the idea of trading for a couple of top prospects that don't need to be protected. If anyone has recommendations about teams that would be interested in Dumba for at least 2 top prospects who are close to ready for the NHL please post thoughts.

Wild Next Year
Just a couple thoughts for you... It has been reported by that the wild are going to protect suter, spurgeon and brodin on defense which leads me to think that fletcher is going to trade dumba for an asset that isn't eligible to be exposed in the expansion draft. That will leave scandella on defense. On offense they will ask pominville to wave his no ntc and nmc to expose him to the the draft because lets face it there is no way they would take him. Which would leave Haula as the most likely forward to be taken. I think this would be the best for the team not losing a super valuable asset for nothing. Also I will post my view on what that would look like and would love to get your thoughts on it.

Wild
I don't think the Wild are planning on trading Brodin now because Scott Stevens is most excited to work with Brodin. Plus he is our most versatile defenseman able to play both sides which makes him very valuable to us. I think they are going to save Dumba, Suter, Brodin and Reilly because he can't be in the expansion draft. That leaves Spurgeon and Scandella. One of them would be taken in the expansion draft so I think we should try to trade them instead of losing them for nothing. I don't hate the free agent signings that you put up though. Also not the biggest RNH I would prefer a different center. I just made a team check it out and let me know what you think or something you would change!

Simple moves
The reason I signed Gologoski is because of the expansion draft. If you look at the roster that is the player I would take with protecting 7 forwards and 3 D. This way we protect Reilly from the draft. Otherwise I would completely agree with your take on the D. If Vegas took Goligoski that would free up a good amount of cap space. Then bring up Reilly for the end of the season and keep him under 40 games and move brodin over to right D.

Fair Trades w/ PHI, FLA, LAK, BUF, BOS & CAR
I did similar research about the draft picks and anything outside the top 10 was a second round pick exactly 30 spot lower. I'm not against keeping the #8 pick if there is a good talent there but there is also the chance that the players we would want could be taken. If that is the case I would trade down. You are right about the top 10 pick trade being pricey but it is all dependent on if a team values someone there and if they do they will have to pay for it.
Not to toot my own horn either but I've been proposing the MIN-FLA trade for 5 days!

Scandella is young and will help them sure up there terrible back end. They love Pominville and could use a veteran who has had multiple 30 goal seasons to mentor youth. With the Vanek thing he will probably get bought out, but I know the flyers have inquired about him and any trade would probably involve some retained salary. Plus how many #8 picks are busts? The answer is a lot! At least BUF will get proven players.

I like what you did but the wild wouldn't be very protected for the expansion draft. I'm thinking get some older rental players for the next season to protect ourselves. You can take a look at what I did and see what you think.

Reasonable
I am targeting Nylander but we all know that sometimes a player slips down the board. There are a lot of teams before us with defensive needs so its possible but not likely that Dubois or Tkachuk could fall to us there also if those 3 are gone we can trade back for additional picks and then I would target Bellows. For 21 I have McAvoy, Kunin, Rubtsov or Tufte as likely targets but if someone falls to us I would take Bellows, McLeod or Gauthier. The rest of the draft would be mostly defense to replenish our depth at D.

Hanzal to Wild plus other super smart moves
I like your moves. If Vanek will accept the trade I'm all in on that! But with spurgeon and zucker I would rather get a different center because I'm not the biggest RNH fan plus the cap hit. But all in all I like your moves. Who would you put up for the expansion draft after the season is up? Dalpe, Downing & Lovejoy?

Cool Moves
How many goals did he score last year. Bjugstad is a third line center right now and Scandella is a top four defenseman do the math. They have a similar cap hit so its about as fair as it gets unless you are trading via potential which is usually a bad idea.

Reasonable
Maybe he would like to be on a winning team for once!!!!! Also Pheonix isn't that interested in resigning him at the age of 39 soon to be 40 when they can sign someone younger for the future! Maybe the bruins should sign him for 6 million and watch him put up 15 goals instead of the upper 20's.
