Wild Next Year

Description
This is what I'm thinking the Wild look like next year. I'd love to find a way to get Vegas to take Scandella over Brodin, but I don't see that happening. Perhaps Budaj is a pipe dream at this price point, but fill in a backup there.....likely Kuemper in order to meet our exposure requirements.

Just a couple thoughts for you... It has been reported by that the wild are going to protect suter, spurgeon and brodin on defense which leads me to think that fletcher is going to trade dumba for an asset that isn't eligible to be exposed in the expansion draft. That will leave scandella on defense. On offense they will ask pominville to wave his no ntc and nmc to expose him to the the draft because lets face it there is no way they would take him. Which would leave Haula as the most likely forward to be taken. I think this would be the best for the team not losing a super valuable asset for nothing. Also I will post my view on what that would look like and would love to get your thoughts on it.

Trob9797. Your Dumba situation pre draft. Leafs are in the position to protect four or five Dmen. If they like Dumba, enough too protect him, maybe a trade for Dumba for a couple of near ready NHLers...one of Valiev or Dermot, and a LWer on Lindberg or Leipisic and maybe a bit more...Players I mentioned don't have to be protected.

My biggest concern is getting pominville to waive nmc. 6g for over 5 mil a year is stupid. He needs to go. Knowing we will lose dumba or scandella is annoying, but understandable under these expansion conditions.

I like your thoughts... which package would you like to see/ which is the most likely?

Troub9797: I could see the Leafs willing to trade one of the their two LHD in the AHL. Valiev or Dermot. Both former high seconders. Certainly NHL potential. LWer Lindberg is in his second year in the AHL. More a third line guys but appears to be NHL strong and smart. LWer Gunnerstrom? is a 19 year playing in the SHL, second round pick last year. Solid body, might have more scoring touch than Lindberg. A wild card player might be Bracco a slight RWer playing in the OHL. High scorer, nifty with puck, not so good in his D zone.
I think the Leafs would be in the market for a few teams "4" Dman. A RHD would be preferred, and possibly the Wild, Isles or Ducks could be trade partners.
Certainly the Wild have some Dmen that are attractive to some teams pre expansion.

Well we'll get a preview of the Wild without Brodin. Broken finger out weeks according the GMCF, no clue how many until after he sees a hand specialist.
