Fair Trades w/ PHI, FLA, LAK, BUF, BOS & CAR

Description
At #14 we would take either McLeod or Bellows unless someone were to slip to us. If Dubois slipped to #8 we wouldn't trade back!

At #21 we would take Gauthier, McVoy, Kunin, Rubtsov or Tufte.

At #29 we would take the best defenseman available. I like Cholowski the best.

The rest of the draft should focus on Defense to replenish our depth. And the wild scouts are better at finding defensive talent than offensive talent if history tells us anything!

Trade 1: Why would the flyers ever want to take on more $, they are already in cap hell

Trade 4: No way Buffalo (a young re building team) ever makes that trade

Scandella is young and will help them sure up there terrible back end. They love Pominville and could use a veteran who has had multiple 30 goal seasons to mentor youth. With the Vanek thing he will probably get bought out, but I know the flyers have inquired about him and any trade would probably involve some retained salary. Plus how many #8 picks are busts? The answer is a lot! At least BUF will get proven players.

The draft pick for draft pick trades are just a little too much just to move up a couple spots in the later part of the round, especially when we're not talking about within the top 5-10. If a team is really set out on a specific person than maybe it'll work but for the most part i think its a little pricey. A little while ago i went looking for draft pick for draft pick trades in the past and there isn't a whole lot of data but for the ones i did find it an added second round pick can get you from approx, 25-30 to 16-20 ish. the 8oa trade may be possible but in this case if i were Buf, I'd rather take my chances with the 8oa being a stud instead of the dropped % of the 14-29 pick being a stud.

At the risk of tooting my own horn, honestly the most likely scenario of all of these is the Min-Flo trade and i just proposed that one a half an hour ago. Sticking Out Tongue

I did similar research about the draft picks and anything outside the top 10 was a second round pick exactly 30 spot lower. I'm not against keeping the #8 pick if there is a good talent there but there is also the chance that the players we would want could be taken. If that is the case I would trade down. You are right about the top 10 pick trade being pricey but it is all dependent on if a team values someone there and if they do they will have to pay for it.

Not to toot my own horn either but I've been proposing the MIN-FLA trade for 5 days!

Do the Sabres really love Pominville? They never resigned him when he was UFA. Might have loved him three or five years, but now he just an overpriced veteran.

They TDL traded him as the start of their dumpster fire rebuild. Vanek was gone like 3 weeks into the season the next year, along with everything not cemented in the walls. He really didn't fit into their 5 year plan at the time.

Oh really? I hadn't noticed but kudos! Involving just Bjugstad for Spurgeon only though? Either way my idea was a brain child of the Bjugstad for Scandella+ offers i had seen floating around. Didn't think I saw the same trade mentioned anywhere yet.
