Description

Realistic offseason moves. Panarin will most likely sign with FLA. Skinner is a great option imo. I can see him working well with Quinn. Take on Marleau to get Kapanen. And acquire Ristolainen in exchange for Kreider, who is packaged with Shattenkirk to get rid of one of those bad contracts on the back end. Acquiring some fins to help out Kakko. Smith buyout. Lock-in DeAngelo for long term cheap. Also Lock-in Kapanen. Bridge Lemieux, Buchnevich, and Pionk. Evaluate them within next two years to see what they’re really worth. Marleau comes off books in 1 year, Lundqvist and Staal come off in 2 years. Will have more than enough money after that to sign kakko, kravtsov after entry deals expire, and when the three bridge deals are up, and any FA’s they’d want in the future.

Buffalo deal is worth it, have to get bad contracts off our books (Shattenkirk). Trouba will cost a lot more than Ristolainen. And the acquisitions on our forward group make Kreider expendable. Plus the Finnish connection is an added bonus.

Also, you have to do your due diligence with Pionk. I don’t see them trading him this summer, 1 year deal to see what he can prove after 1 year under his belt. Reevaluate next summer.
