Description

Dallas gets a quality RD to play with Heiskanen on second pair. Caps get salary dump, a trade piece (Janmark) and an underperforming RD. Detroit needs Forwards with upside and Caps get a gritty premier right hand face off man and PK man and a minor upgrade to a second pick for a third.

Glendening worth more than Janmark IMO

Really? Janmark except last season has outscored him. He is 4 years younger. Much higher potential. Potential top 6. All things Detroit needs. Caps need more cap space, better face off man in D zone and PK help. Both teams get what they need.

Glendening is 53.9% on face-offs, Janmark 37.6%
Glendening is #1 PKer in Detroit, Janmark is 2nd PK unit.
Glendening is $800,000 less in cap hit in your AGM.
So all 3 reasons that you mention actually go to Glendening, not Janmark.

Detroit sucks. They need to get younger and score more. Janmark does both. Caps window is closing. They need to win now. Caps trade potential for help now. Make sense for both. Yserman makes this trade in a heartbeat.
