"he’s terrible at being a defensemen. The chart above provides a quick look at the towering Finn. He’s a drag to his team in every category except on the power-play—an area the Lightning have already two great defensemen quarterbacking in Victor Hedman and Mikhail Sergachev."

Stats don't show the full picture just like the eye test doesn't show the full picture. The stats argument against risto is a scape goat. He's a very good pp qb and is a tough dman to play against. Ask Ovi, risto always gives him a tough time.

Risto making 5.4 is way too much? Come back to reality when you get a chance

When both the analytics and the eye test are against him, I wonder how you can still say he's good. He's physical, yes, and he's good in PP (as the article says - adding that Tampa doesn't need that in particular), but he's a defensive liability and he shows it every single night.

That's very debatable. Maybe equal but zaitsev and his 14 points don't help in either zone.

Nope take more then a 2020 2nd to move Callahan's contract, Probably at least Taylor Raddysh would need to be involved. Yzerman would want a young prospect coming back from Tampa and Raddysh would be a solid piece. Detroit is one of the teams rumored to be involved in Callahan deal along with the Sabres, Rangers and a few others.

Hes not a tough dman to play against. He gets torn through by 4th liners

I think that's the appeal though. A quality team with a good defensive d partner can limit his defensive liabilities and allow him to be completely offensive. He'll also boost most powerplays he's on. Do I think TBL need him? No but maybe another contender. I think taking someone like McCabe makes more sense
