Description

After signing a huge contract with Marner, Toronto need to make changes in their roster to stay under the cap and not allocate to much to their money to their forwards. Nylander would be ideal fit for Blackhawks and Toronto gets a right handen D-men they so desperately need.

If Blackhawks chose to pick Byram as their #3 pick, they have the ability to trade Beaudin (both lefties).

But is this a trade Toronto would make? Will they ask for Jokiharju or Boqvist instead fo Beaudin?

Strålman would be a great veteran to strenght the defence. Saad and Anisimov can be kept for one more year until DeBrincat and Strome sign new contracts.

Leafs dont need or want another leftie. Jokiharju, 1st and Barratt for Nylander. They are not selling him to overpay Marner. They are not stupid.

They are in essence selling him to overpay Tavares,Matthews and Marner. Ignore it if you wish. No teams giving full value for him knowing the Leafs situation. They might not be stupid but their math and negotiating skills need some work at least.

Hasn’t Marner turned down a deal that starts with ten? You really think he takes 9 something. I feel Ike he ends up between 10.5 and 11 and it’s quite possibly with another team.

He better take 9 something or he isnt a Leaf. He doesnt deserve more than that. He is not the best or 2nd best winger in the league. And should not be even close to Matthews. Matthews is one of the best players in the league when it comes to 5v5 scoring. Actually since his entrance in the league he is the best scorer on 5v5. Marner should not be in double digits for his own sake.

Offersheet at 10.5 Id match but not more. If its around 11 Id take those 4 1sts tbh. And Im not hating on Marner I want him to stay forever. But he is not worth that money.

Farabee/Patrick/Voracek
Lindblom/Frost/TK

You could even drop Marner down a line to create huge matchup issues and to help elevate Patrick and or Farabee.
I like that as our top 9 with Raffl/Laughton/Hartman as the 4th.

I’d look to move JVR if Marner is acquired
