The Kings don't want or have any use for Patrick Marleau. The only reason they would take him is if Toronto was willing to give up picks/prospects to LA in return, or was willing to take on a longer-term but lower cap hit contract (i.e. Kovalchuk w/ retention, Phaneuf, Carter). They're certainly not going to give up two quality assets for him.

Dont understand the trade for LA. How does Toronto end up getting compensated with Clifford and a 2nd round pick. Toronto should be paying to get rid of Marleau, not the other way around.
