Description
Moore trade: Moore is still a good player, very capable #4/5 guy who moves the puck very well and skates extremely well. Cap hit might be a bit high but for a team looking for help getting the puck out of their d-zone smoothly, Moore can definitely help with that. (Not saying the trade is with Anaheim, could be any team. I'd say he's roughly worth a 3rd rounder, maybe a later 2nd to a team more desperate.) I think there's also a good chance he remains on the team as he could potentially fill a spot once Chara retires but in this instance, he's moved to free up cap space to resign Carlo + McAvoy.

Miller + Backes trade: Backes can still be useful in the right situation and maybe he can be a leader of sorts in the NJD locker room (not that they don't already have some quality leadership in Greene + Zajac) and I think he could help their young team develop. He only has 2 more years on his deal so he won't be around by the time all of New Jersey's young guns get their big raises and can be fairly easily bought out if they don't like his first performance in the first year. Miller has been a heart and sole guy for the Bruins but after this playoff run, Clifton is making him kind of the odd man out. Only one year left on his deal makes him very attractive to teams around the deadline looking for defensive help, could potentially recoup the 3rd rounder they lost trading for him. Both players give the Devils some bite to their lineup and helps to protect some of their younger guys.

Johansson signing: Johansson's value is tough to gauge as his concussion history is always scary to think about. He won't drive his own line but he's a very nice complimentary piece with the right players (see these playoffs with Coyle + Heinen). Maybe he looks to find another breath of life and puts up solid numbers and cashes in big time next off-season. Even if he doesn't resign, I think Bjork can fill the hole well enough.

RFA signings:
- McAvoy: After watching all the top forwards take less money to keep the team more completive, I wouldn't be shocked to see McAvoy take a discount on his first contract knowing that he'll get paid on his second one. Allows the Bruins stay more cap-flexible and competitive longer.
- Carlo: Developing into one of best shut down defenseman in the league but also skates very well for his size and moves the puck well. He's had some injury issues and is very inept offensively so give him a couple years to hopefully find that and pay him after that.
- Heinen: incredible two-way guy who's found his spot with Coyle and Johansson this post season, but on the 3rd line. With Pasta being the only guy ahead of him on the depth chart (RW'ers) there's a chance for him to move up, more of a 'prove it' contract than anything.

That’s an easy no from NJ

4 years for McAvoy takes him right to UFA

JFK will not be on the bruins next year

Mojo will get more money and term. Likely a 4x4.2 deal or something like that

Rest looks good though. Not sure about Kuhlman on line 2, think they’ll try to find someone else through trade or FA, or Studnicka will play there.

Did the year where he played in the playoffs not count as a year of service?

Nope, he’s a group one rfa. He can’t sign an offer sheet, and he’s got an extra year before ufa

Why would you do that? He’s playing in Sweden next year. He’s not gonna be on the roster.

Since when does this have to be 100% accurate. It's just what I think could happen. Even if they do sign him, they can still loan him out to a team in the Swedish Elite League.

They wont sign him until he's ready to return. They also wouldn't carry a dead spot for him on the NHL roster and therefore if he was signed he would need to go through waivers (even though he's not playing here)
