Nashville says no. It doesn't give them extra scoring (takes it away actually) and hurts their top 6.

Does give them more than two million in cap relief and doesn't take away that much scoring and they get a 2nd rounder

If the preds trade granlund, they will get a much better return than players the pens don't want and a late 2nd... and you're asking for two additional picks from the preds? It is a very one-sided deal.

Granlund is way better than Bjugstad. That trade won't go through, Nashville can dump cap easier than that.

Why does Vancouver take Jack Johnson? You've provided no incentive.

Brodin is way better than Maatta and Dubnyk is better than Jarry and a first. And what are you going to do with Dubnyk and Murray?

This is still a better return for granlund than the Minnisota deal. He played even worse on nashvile in a down year.
Rust is incentive for vancouver. And they dont even want to resign gaunce.
What do we do with them? ... shakes head .. We start them

If i could trade my 5th and 6th for a 2nd, thats a no brainer. There isnt much lost in production and they shed a lot of cap.

I'll do that trade. Remove granlund and grimaldi, bjugstad and simon - that is basically how the trade you proposed looks like to anyone other than a pens fan.

Youre not going to upgrade your draft pick by that much and shed that much cap without giving something decent in return

They aren't looking to upgrade their draft pick by sacrificing their cup window - they want immediate help because they are in win-now mode. And Granlund helps a lot more than that package you suggested.

The cap room allows them to add more

Simply put: that is a bad trade for Nashville and they are not moving from Granlund after less than a full season unless they get a better deal. You can try to justify it all you want, but it just isn't going to happen.
