Description

I keep hearing about our lack of left defense. Reality is Montreal finished 13th in the league in ga this season, from Christmas to end of season they were ranked 8th. I'm good with our defense as it is.
Offensively, we ranked 13th best and 14th best from Christmas. Add some goal scoring, pp production and that get's us in the playoff. Picking up Kessel is a three year project and the Leafs are paying him to play in Mtl.

Going after Kessel would be a good option for them, but going to cost more than that. We would probably have to give up more pick wise and part with our first or two seconds plus a more attractive player someone who they can move up the line up something like Shaw and Armia and two seconds.

Pittsburg is trying to free up cap space not add to their cap. Kessel salary is 6.8. Are you suggesting that we should send back a 3.9 million player like Shaw...then that defeats the purpose of freeing up cap space. Anyhow, if we can get Kessel without giving up any of our upcoming studs then that's what we do, adding a player like Kessel for only 3yrs while having cap space to resign Domi, Mete and Juulsen are a priority.
