You might be right, who do you believe is a bottom-line guy making too much who could be traded?

Xhekaj can become a power forward, has the wheels, size and skill to do so. Besides that he played forward all his life until a OHL sophmore in Kitchener. Can you find a spot for him on defense with the Hutson, Mailloux, Struble, Reinbacher? Now add Barron, Engstrom, Konyuskov and I don't see Arber fits in the top 4 in the future. What the Habs don't have is a bonafide power forward. Read it now believe me later.

Vegas has just under 10 million to resign Marchesseault. Chandler, Hannifan, Howden, Dorofeyev. I am providing cap flexibility for next season and giving them back the assets Vegas lost in the acquisition of Hertll from San Jose. Imagine that. hockey clubs acquiring assets at the deadline for a playoff run and selling said assets to remain cap compliant while acquiring simular picks lost or more because of retention.

I enjoyed reading the different perspectives and wish more post would hold such discussions. I still having trouble understanding Kurashev value? I suspected a first and a third was a very good start a la Kirby Dach offer last season and added some value in RD Harris, kid has 120 games experience and a career minus 4 for a terrible Habs team. He would adequately replace Zaitsev or even Murphy with the upside of a 23yr old.</div></div>

Chicago won't be competitive for a few years and I sincerely believe fellow Sudburian Davidson would take the deal.

While your instinct is to believe I know nothing about hockey, you shouldn't practice ruinous empathy. FYI, Xhekaj played forward until his softmore season in the OHL with Kitchener Rangers. Stop being disparaging and become a fan who can appreciate another point of view.

The key was to sign the LW free agent class this season to multiple years giving the Leafs an opportunity to solidify this lineup in 2yrs. Demelo\Morrisey in Win works very well. Extra year of development for Lili and Benoit and the final year of the albatross Tavares contract. The team needs to stop signing guys for one season and give the group a few seasons to gel and be ready for a cup run. Unfortunately, it won't be this season.

Your right his value has not gone up since the summer. Let's all look over the trades made by the faithful fans this off season and move him based on the trade value submitted in trades.

24yr old just coming into his own, similar stats last season to Suzuki, playing less minutes and PP. Could be a great second line centre keeping Dach on first line Newhook and possibly Slavkowsky accompany Mittlestadt

Same for the EDM trade as stated above. You'd have to put Brodie or Timmins there
Marner for Bura is a huge L for TOR, you'd have to swap with Nylander. Not sure the cap works for SEA with Marner anyway</div></div>
Minnesota could use the first to acquire a center to play along with EK and Rossi.
You obviously don't value cap space for wingers who scores 60pts
Cap space and roster spot for Bouchard.

Marner free up cap space, good return. Balance 4 lines. Iffy on Klingberg, not the dman needed.

Keller would be very successful with Mtl. I may not have the right trade package but look at it this way, he cost $650,000\yr more than Gallagher

Giving up a 3rd pick for Korpisalo to let him walk to shelter the kids if there isn't any other options is a good idea. That being said, Monte gave up 3.5 goals a game last season, nowhere near the 5+ you state.

That's a terrible idea. Send the kids to the farm to develop together and possibly a run to a AHL championship. Season is for Bedard.
