I don't think the WPG deal is terrible...but the other two to get rid of salary are pipe dreams. You're not getting a pick back for Marleau or Zaitsev. Picks or prospects will be going the other way...

Add more to Zaits trade. We can't just salary dump them with a low-end pick. Rumours say he's probably going to be packaged with Kappy.

If you want to move Zaits, you're going to have to give up another asset to make up for the bad contract.

This saves Arizona a lot of money. They are paying 1.25M for Marleau this season while the Leafs pay out the remainder of Hossa's 5.25M contract. Why wouldn't they have to add? I also don't agree that Zaitsev is in full cap dump territory, I just don't think he'll cost a lot to acquire.
