Description
Planning for Seattle Expansion:

If possible, prematurely convince EJ to waive his NMC for the expansion draft. Plan to resign Barrie asap (maybe $8-8.5M x 5 yr - remember that this contract will begin in the 20-21 season before saying this is an overpayment. expect a bigger-than-normal increase to the salary cap due to Seattle expansion)

2019 NHL Draft:

4th Overall - Bowen Byram
16th Overall - Raphael Lavoie
23rd Overall - Spencer Knight

I know some of these players wont sign their ELCs right away but I created them anyways

RFA signing justifications:

Kerfoot - 2 years @ $3.5M - 2 years still takes him to RFA and a 3.5M cap hit is fair for a bridge deal for a 0.5PPG player.
Compher - 7 years @ 4.25M - Risky signing him long term but I hope it can pay off if he takes the next step. This is similar to Alex Tuch's long term deal.
Zadorov - 2 years @ $3M - 2 years still takes him to RFA and 3M is more than generous for a physical defensive D man with limited offense.
Rantanen - 8 years @ $10M - As long as we get him long term at a reasonable cap hit I will be happy.
Greer/Graves/Kamenev - 1 year @ $950k - All have limited NHL experience so they get 1 year deals with low cap hits. all will become RFAs.

UFA signing justifications:

Panarin - 5 years @ $11.5M - Pay the man as much as he wants (as long as its below McDavid's cap hit). Just get him on the team.

Interesting. I too like the Panarin signing. Doubt Z signs for 3 though. Also is LOC ready for NHL? You could really save money on some of the lower guys, Graves, Kamenev, and Greer should all be 800k just on one ways so its guaranteed.

LOC may not be ready at the start of the season but I expect at least one of Kaut, Bowers, or O'Connor to step up and grab a roster spot at some point during the season
